Hi, can anyone tell me if i recieved a default notice under 87, stating i have broken terms etc and to remedy in 17 days, if not a termination letter will be sent. Does the letter of termination mean they are going to take me to court, or does it mean they will pass the debt on to DCA?. Many thanks im very stressed!.

The default notice will state what action will be taken if you fail to fix the remedy.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
Not sure. I've had quite a few and not always properly worded/drawn up. Again, that was said to me on advice from elsewhere so just passing that on.
But, everyone gets a default - sometimes more than one on the same account - when payments aren't made for a length of time. Which I am sure you already know.
As I can't say for definite what would happen eg is it for a loan/catalogue/card for example? But what would generally happen now is it would get passed to a collections agency once it's reached the point where the creditor knows they are not going to get any money. The default notice is generally just a legal piece of paper, but not necessarily an indication of court action. It's just a formality. And it will show up on your credit file.
But first, anyone on MSE would need to know what the exact wording is before they could tell you if it is under 87. I hope you see what I mean.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

Hi, just saw your other thread about BC. And just wondered if you could help us out with some feedback to our replies?
Edit - I see you've since edited your post to include DCA.
Does the letter of termination mean they are going to take me to court, or does it mean they will pass the debt on to DCA?.
You need to put exactly what the debt is before anyone can tell you that for certain. Or do you not want people to help you? Just putting it plainly because some of us took the trouble to respond, and you said it was stressing you out, and you've not responded.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Hi Melin, i am sorry you think i am being disrespectful to your help, believe me i am not. I think what is happening is this. I am a full time carer for a very disabled person whom i live with, ok so far, so when i am on the computer it may be for a few mins to post a qusetion, and then i have to leave to attend to this person, it may be a few hours before i can get back on again. I feel quite upset about this. I fully intended to come on here today when i had time from my caring duties to reply to you. I am sorry if you think replying to my situation was wasted but, i thank you for your time and everyone who has given me advice.Merlinexcalibur wrote: »Hi, just saw your other thread about BC. Thank you 10 past 6, i have read default again and there are a lot of MAY do etc. I have since had a call from Tesco credit who issued default to say thay have accepted my payment plan for now, and that they would review in 6 mths. The default they tell me is issued as law now when an account is defaulted. Many thanks for taking time to reply, and sorry ive been a few days in replying. The default notice will state what action will be taken if you fail to fix the remedy.0
