They get shoes thrown at them in my house.

No spider lives once I see it I'm afraid. Catching them and putting them outside only encourages the little b*ggers to tell their friends and come back in the house for a party

we couldn't use that i'm afraid as you still have to get too close to the spider for my family's taste.
as the nominated spider engineer i use a dust pan and bush to gently put them outside.
  • These are excellent, I have had mine for two years, and have been able to remove spiders from those awkward places like the corner of the ceiling and wall.

I am a complete arachnophobe but as I live on my own I have to deal with them and this is the best way I have found yet. The other good thing is that they do not hurt the spider as although I am frightened of them I do not wish them any harm.:D

Mine came with a rather too realistic plastic spider to practice with!!!

As wolfehouse says above, you have to get far too close to actually use it! I cannot imagine picking up a stick with a spider on the end of it:eek:

I find the best way to deal with a spider is to freeze and just stare at it for several moments, then to scream / swear / cry - this part all is a bit of a haze, but I'm pretty sure thats what happens - then to slowly walk around the outside walls of the room to get out. I then shut the door and don't go back in until DH has come home from work and search and destroyed it.

If the spider is moving then I go into panic mode!
  • i just use a mug and poke it in

I agree,I find this really good. The plastic spider is very realistic,I put mine in a drawer and every time I open the drawer to get something else out,I think it is a real spider sitting looking at me
  • my mouth is watering even at the thought of a spider in my house!
oldMaconald, cant agree with you more! closing the door and not going in until OH is home!

    Thanks for that.
I've noticed a few in the past week or so, after not seeing any for months.
Do they have 'seasons', as in time of year they like to come in to the house? I'd have thought now the weather's a bit milder they'd be going OUTside not wanting to come INside. So why am I seeing them this past few days?
