hsbc 95% Mortgage

Got a letter through the post 2day

Having recently graduated a year ago.. got a letter from HSBC ( used to have a graduate account ) stating they are offering mortgages up to 250k on a basis of 95% .

I dont want a house or a mortgage atm , but seemed a good deal if it actually exists.

Not sure if its for people with HSBC graduate accounts ? but does say offer ends 14th March 09

hope this can help a few people out

Any idea what the fees and rates are?

Wouldn't be that good if it comes with a arrangement fee of £2000, interest rate of 7%:D

If you don't have a graduate account with them you'll need to open one.
  • And be a graduate !

  • Well a 90% with HSBC has just under 7% and a fee of £1000 which can not be put onto the mortgage

How long ago can you have graduated to still be conidered a graduate?

If I graduated in 1973 then would HSBC still offer me this deal?

Are recent graduates not probably already dealing with more debt than most?
  • We've had the same letter so will let you know the details when I know.

Found out at the branch today. It's 6.79% fixed for 2 years. Same as one of their other mortgages, but they'll lend up to 95% instead of 90%. £999 booking fee, valuation fee £155, survey £490, £30 completion fee.

Of course, but only if you can prove that you still eat cold pizza for breakfast, spend your grant money on  instead of cleaning products, take your washing home to mother twice a year whether it needs washing or not, raid your parents kitchen for food parcels.....wait, maybe thats just my son!;)
