I'm trying to copy a bunch of photos to CD. Have done this in the past with no problem just using the Windows XP copy / paste function. Now it's not working. I've done a bit of googling and established that my IMAPI service wasn't running ( for some unknown reason ). Anyhow, I used services.msc to start it, and make it "automatic". But it still doesn't work. I can do edit...copy the files I want, then edit...paste onto the CD drive, but when I right-click the cd-drive to "write these files to CD" as normal, nothing happens. The CD light is constantly on, as if it's accessing the CD, but it's like it's not recognising the CD, and Windows Explorer just freezes up.
The CDs themselves are similar to what I've always used - CD-R, 52X speed, the last batch were from Tesco, the new batch are from Asda. I can't really see that making a difference, but I'm now a bit flummoxed. Any ideas ?

Might be an answer to you own question, I use the same brands that are known to work without fail. You have changed from the working disc to an untested variety. Get a brand you trust and stick with it.0 -

Yeah, I was wondering about that. Not the end of the world - a couple of quid for a pack of 25, can't complain. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something stoopid ! I'll try going back to the ones that I know work, thanks for the advice.0
