help with defaults please

Hi can anyone give me some help on how to remove defaults? I have been reading this site a lot and was thinking of asking creditors for a CCA then if they have one offering to pay the balance in full providing they remove the default is there much chance of them doing this? Any other ideas on how to get defaults removed.
