Help - 1940s Childrens Fashion

Hi I am hoping you imaginative people are going to be able to help me.....again:rolleyes: .

My 9yr DD is doing a school project on WW2. They are going to local museum and have to go dressed as evacuees. I have googled images and have a vague idea of what she should be wearing, but unfortunately her wardrobe is full of jeans and joggy bottoms ( not very 1940'S)

The charity shops are also full of jeans and last years fashions but not 1940s (understandably!)

So if anybody has any ideas to inspire me please be free and easy with them!

Thank you

Jojo

PS I can sew, but generally need a pattern to follow
