Is Google profits a scam ?

Does anybody know much about the Google profits advert which is always showing up on Facebook ?
It says that the information pack costs £1.33 and it promises that you can earn thousands. I feel stupid asking this as it automatically sounds like a scam but wondered if anybody knew anything about this.
The link below is just one of many that all seem to be the same offer.

go knock yourself out and line someone elses pocket.Matched betting profit since 11th June 2006: £613.880 -
Yes, it works like this.
You pay the money and if your lucky they charge you what you think are paying. They then send you a link to Google Adsense. you click on the link and go through to Google. They earn a commission on your signup.
Put it another way, its would be a bit like asking you to pay £10 to me in order to save you money. I take your money and then give you the magic link, which in this scenario, is going to be me sending you to Money Saving Expert .com. and then Martyn paying me a commission. In short don't pay as they are going to send you to Google.
Google adsense provides the text adds you see on websites and on the google web page. If you have a google adsense ad on your website, you earn a commission on clicks.
How to avoid being scammed. Easy, just go to Google and sign up to adsense. Its under the advertising programmes and it is free. However, unless you own a website with content, you wont make a penny.
Don't beleive the adds that say you make a fortune. I make around £100 a year from Google as when people click on my adds and conduct searches on my website. I don't think I can post the website here, but if you want details just PM me.0 -
Yes - a scam. See: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1481843"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

hey people, I am new here, but i do earn through google Adsense, not going to google from some people but directly registering by there advertisement program, building a proper blog or website putting ads and there you go have traffic on it, get clicks thats the way i do it and i receive my payment every month i.e. the earnings of the previous month, not in the world its a scam ....0

Yes its a scam, You might only pay £1.33 for postage and get nothing but then look at the small print. It says you will then be charged $39.50 every month after that. Plus Ive heard people paid the postage and also had $190 taken off their cards too.
Even though it says on that link that facebook have pulled the ads, they still appear just under someone elses name. Also the posts people put on that mikesmoney page are all fake. Try putting one up yourself. It wont be added.
Stay well clear.Comping again0 -

Yes of course Google Adsense is not a scam. But the OP is referring to the ads on Facebook for a get rich quick scheme which has no connection with Google:
See: http://www.stuff.co.nz/4858437a28.html
Google Adsense is free to join and there is lots of good free info on the web about earning money from adsense (or buy the adsense for dummies book for £10).
There is no need to pay some scammer in Florida $40 a month to find out how adsense works!

Some news stories on this scam are starting to appear:
"Another site run by "Kevin Hoeffer" follows the same formula with an image of a cheque, bogus testimonials and a phony story about how Hoeffer lost his job but was now earning thousands of dollars a month "just submitting small texts and ads online on Google".
Google runs an AdSense program allowing publishers to earn revenue by placing advertisements served by Google on their websites, but said these scam sites had nothing to do with the AdSense program.
A spokesman for Google said the search giant's legal team was reviewing the scam sites and would "take appropriate action as necessary".
