  • I am not sure how food prices compare across the country, but we are 2 adults and 2 children and I have never managed to get the shopping below £300 per month no matter how hard I try. It is generally £350 per month. There are a the occassional luxuries in there but no ready meals or anything unneccessary.
  • Suffolk is more expensive to live :( roughly bills are p/m council tax £105, electric & gas £60, Phone £40, food £200, Water £31, tv £10.99, etc etc...
  • i live in suffolk and prices dont look that different to west midlands - my council tax is £82 per month although i think this might be over 10 months rather than 12 ;)

  • It will be Ipswich actually, I had checked the council tax and worked it out to be just over £100 pm. If I remember correctly the Suffolk Coastal rates were cheaper than Ipswich !


    Was that figure of £60 for electric/gas combined or £60 each ?

    yes it was, thats for a 3 bedroom home on nacton road if you know it.

    that is for gas heating and electic, though powergen, i just have £60 direct debt come out the start of every month and that covers it.
