cleaning mouldy curtains

My bedroom curtains have got spots of black mold all over the lining from the window frames(due to condesation) the windows are clean but after washing the curtains they still have the black spots all over the lining. how do i remove it? will bleach help and if so how do i do it?

    The only thing i can think of is to sponge the affected area with a mild bleach solution. Baking soda and water will remove it from shower curtains, so that might be something you could try.

    We had the same problems in the bedrooms too. What I did was wash the curtains in the washing machines using a half and half mix of washing powder and washing soda and use plenty of vinegar instead of fabric conditioner.

    It really worked well and we have clean curtains .. oh and it worked on nets too.

  • I've just noticed today that my curtains seem to have mould around the bottom. Not very nice, and i've got no idea how to get rid of it, before my fussy Mother in Law comes over on Tuesday .... PLEASE HELP !

  • Thanks for all the replies, tried washing normally and nothing happened, so will try again with the soda and vinegar. Hope it's dry tomorrow they are huge so have no idea where i'll dry them !

    The only thing I have found to remove mould spots is bleach and even then it does not always remove 100%.
