  • The mortgage company would gain no benefit from taking his Ex off the mortgage. At present were he to go bankrupt for example they could get the money due from his Ex ( in theory i.e. If she has any. ).

Is there any equity in the property. If there is plenty of equity and he is well able to make the mortgage payments ( no missed payments or underpayments or late ) then they might take his Ex off.

If his credit record is not excellent they might not take her off.

( there is also the question : Does his Ex own a percentage of the property? )
