Ann Summers Party Planning - Ethics with 2nd Job

Hello All!
This is my first post here but I have been floating around for a while.
I am currently unemployed but have a call back interview on Monday for a marketing / design Junior role. I have also been thinking about becoming an Ann Summers Party Planner to earn some extra cash. An Ann Summers lady is coming over tonight to talk about it....
My question is in regards to both these roles working together. If I were to get the Marketing / Design role would the fact that I am a party planner be looked down upon? Do they have a right to ask me not to do it?
Thank you for your time and help!

I am an Accountant and also do party plan - I have never had a problem with it but some companies don't like you having a second job (moonlighting) and this would be in your contract.
I would ask at the interview about having a 2nd job but not telling them exactly what it is as its none of their business.
Good LuckI get paid to party!:rotfl:0 -
An employee is obliged not to act in a manner which is inconsistant with their duy of fidelity. Providing it's in your own time, doesn't conflict with the employers business interests and is not in breach of a contractual term, you may get away with it.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Tell them you're thinking about being an Avon lady, this works in a similar way. If they have no problem go ahead and do Ann Summers. Although it could get awkward if you get your interviewer asking for products.etc lol.0

Thank you for the advice people. It is a tricky one.
Sharon87: I am on Jersey, Channel Islands there are no Avon ladies
Well, I don't think so anyway!
It is a problem being on Jersey, because I would be bound to do a party for someone who knows someone that knows someone who knows me. And If I am supposed to be a representation for the company (the marketing/design role). Then selling racy items may prove a problem.... That's my main concern.
But saying all this, I may not even get the Marketing job, so I don't want to rule out Ann Summers.

Since neither certain - don't even ask yet - I'd be really suspicious of a second job request thinking at interview we'd risk training etc only for someone to run off and do a start-up....Hello All!
