The most sensible thing is to pay off the most expensive debt which is the credit card.

Then use the car sale and rest of the money to pay that off.

    What is the HP for?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

HP is for a caravan. We do not want to sell this as it cost us nearly £19000 new and if we sold it we would be lucky to get £8500. It is 4 years old and we get a lot of enjoyment from it as a weekend break cost us less than £20 for two days.

Its cost you 2625 every year or about 5.75 for every single day that you have owned it - so far. Thats a lot to spend for a cheap two days every so often.

I'm not saying you shouldn't have a caravan. You enjoy it and you dont have to justify yourself to anyone as to why - but saying it allows you to have cheap breaks is completely incorrect. You can rent a lot of caravans for that kind of money.

I still stand by what I said in previous post, coming off JSA approx £64.30 per week, onto HRM & HRC= £119.45 per week. Hmm.. makes financial sense, also if your wife is working, well DLA is not means tested so her wages will not be taken into account, therefore extra money in the kitty. In 5 months you have gone from employed although made redundant, to total disability requiring a carer, just sounds suspicious. Anyway the £119.45 per week will help pay for your caravan expenses.

I can understand your point of view, however I am prepared to believe the OP. Only some one who was none too clever would be making a false claim in present climate. It is no longer a case of pulling the wool over the eyes of a claim advisor. From the day a claim is active you are watched like a hawk. The days of free hand outs are coming to an end.

I have been advised by an acquaitenace in the legal profession to removed my financial details etc. Thanks to all those that offered genuine assistance and it is to be hoped that I will get a paying job in the near future to help alleviate all the debt stress..
