Received calling card from creditor

I stopped paying creditors from beginning of Jan this year and have had a few letters and have not responded - have ignored any phone calls I dont recognise also
Alliance and Leicester seems particularly keen to get some money off me - received a few letters from Aegis, who they appear to be using to collect from debtors. This morning received a card from Aegis saying they will be calling at my house on Saturday between 8am and 9pm - I know they cant do diddly squat without a court order so will tell them to get lost if they come - probably wont even answer the door anyway (I rarely get people knocking on my front door so I will spot them easily).
Im not scared at all by their tactics - I am going BR 2 weeks on Monday (9th March) so they aint got much time to do anything serious anyway.
Anyone else had these types of cards from Aegis and did they call?

Hi jellygirl,
Nice to see you here. I remember not so long ago someone else had one of these cards and was worried about it. Obviously the advice was either not to answer the door or to tell them to bog off, but there were a couple of people who doubted that they would actually call and that it was a tactic to try and get you to make contact beforehand. Crafty eh?
Your two weeks will fly by and then it will be pure relief for you. Even though I have had very little creditor contact it is so nice telling them to go away and leave me alone.
Good Luck

Hi,
Well done Jellygirl, you have exactly the right attitude to protect yourself and get through BR and out the other side.
I would have to say that in my experience, unless it is a local creditor, no one ever turns up. Phone calls and letters cost DCA's virtually nothing, but a real person with real wages in a real car possibly travelling a 100 miles or so costs them real money, and they wont waste that unless they feel likely to benefit.
If in the unlikely event someone does turn up then do exactly as you said you would !

Thats pretty much what I thought would be the case - thanks very much:):j Goodbye debt - Hello sanity! :j0 -
Ah, you see, the trick is in the wording, calling isn't necessarily visiting, it could just as easily be a phone call they're talking aboiut. It's all designed to frighten you into phoning them to stop a home visit, but that wasn't necessarily ever their intention, sneaky bu99ersAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

They won't be coming to your house. They're based in India. It's just a scare tactic that MBNA use.0

I fell for it and got all panicky when I first got a card saying that, it was my OH who read between the lines and pointed out what it actually met, Mr smarty pants:rolleyes:Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

We got one of their postcards too this morning. Totally fell for it and gave them a call as they have been really hassling us lately and wanted to tell them to stop. After speaking to a really pushy customer services agent for about 10 minutes who tried to get us to pay our arrears on a debit card, she admitted that it doesn't mean that someone is going to actually call around to the house - just that someone is going to telephone you! Crafty eh?Nice to save.0

Ooh they have been busy sending them out:) Its just a scare tactic then - I cant see why they would even consider letting us know when they are gonna phone us, let alone send a card out to us! I should have rang them too - I was right in the mood this morning for a pushy customer services agent - might have cleared my thumping headache...letting off some steam;):j Goodbye debt - Hello sanity! :j0
