Property in a Pension

With the current state of our Economy, and the way the state of the property market appears to be directly linked, do any of the experts (or non experts like me) think that our idiotic Government, or the next idiotic one, will one day revisit the idea of the direct holding of residential property in a Pension ??
I have no particular interest, but it ocurred to me the other day that this might be the crazy sort of plan they might dream up to kick start the property market.
