Table top sale, any ideas?

I have a feeling I'm probably in the wrong place but searched the forums and nowhere is really suitable so any pointer in the right direction (before some grumpy person tells me off! ) would be much appreciated.
I noticed that my local church is having a table top sale this weekend, I've never done anything like that before but would love to give it a try to make a few extra pennies.
Does anyone have experience of these?
What would you suggest/recommend?
I was mostly thinking of selling a (huge) pile of stuff I have lying around- mostly things I don't think are worth eBaying such as:
Brand new pieces of make up from Christmas gifts sets (non-brand names)
Various items of clothing (again, non-brand, I put the branded stuff- topshop etc- on eBay)
old toys
books
Perhaps some craft items (I make cards)
Any advice appreciated, would love to hear your personal stories/experiences.
Thanks

Hiya
I have done various table top sales or car boot sales and find that adult clothes don't shift very well - make up should be good, toys and books as well.
These things really can be a hit or a miss just depends on the weather wether people will come out to buy or not.
Go with the mindset that you are clearing your clutter and not out to make a huge profit and anything you then make will be a bonus!
Good luckI get paid to party!:rotfl:0 -
i find other than toys and household items, little things sell well, like make up,cards, sweets, party things,etc.0
