I struggle to imagine how the result could be any better than a well seasoned solid pan - I have a heavy cast iron one reserved just for pancakes. However, see what others think.
Now you've got me thinking about a waffle maker, which I've been trying not to tempt myself into for about 12 months! I honestly don't think I'd get sufficient use from it, but I think the waffles would be luvverlyWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Thanks for the reply.
Actually, I was thinking if I can use it to make other delicacies besides pancakes, such as Indian flat bread, Swedish Krumkaka, or crispy ice-cream cone etc.
The Krumkaka should be made with pressing two iron plates together so that the batter is thin and even. Just wondering if this machine will be able to make Krumkaka as well if I use the tool to spread the batter thinly.
Any idea?0 -
Was looking at this myself in Lidl ad this week, but think that as DFC says my cast iron pan will do the trick for another while, no more space for gadgetry really.

I'm the same, heavy solid pan for ours
re wafflemakers I tend to make waffles up in batches and freeze as they are a bit of a faff but a really cheap filling treat, savoury or sweet. That way the wafflemaker hasn't got to be in immediate reach in the kitchen at all times eithernot that I'm encouraging you lol...:D *I got mine at a bootsale brand new for £1.50*

It's just another gadget ....:) I actually use a Tefal crepe pan which is flat and light, rather than a heavy pan. I bought it cheaply in a French hypermarket years ago but you can get them over here now. You get the fun of flipping the pancakes that way0
