Personal Pension sitting there

Hi, I contributed to a personal pension from 1994 to 2000 at which time I moved to Ireland and stopped my contributions. What happens now? I did ring Allied Dunbar a few years ago about it but I can't really remember what they said apart from the fact that I won't see the money until I retire. I am working full time for a Local Authority and will get a pension when I retire. I'm just worried that this fund will get forgotten about. Can anyone advise me. (I'm new to this site but I'm sure thats obvious). Many thanks.
