NHS PCT Interview - Administrative Test

Hello, after applying online I have an interview for a HR assistant position. In my invite it states I will have to complete an administrative test. Does anyone know what this will entail? I assume basic english and maths? Any idea how long the interview will take and what it will consist off?

Thanks a lot.

I had an interview with the NHS for an admin role and had a typing test - it was 30 mins long and basically typing up a document.

Don't know if your test will be the same but that was my experience :)

Hiya, no mines not until the the end of the month. Googling it seems to be different by each PCT ranging from a computer based test to check you can use one and basic english and maths tests. I'm not going to worry too much. I think the main thing is prepping for the interview and making sure we can verbalise how we meet the job spec. Good luck to you.

  • Hi
I did a typing test for NHS recently and it was a short letter and a table to be set out.
They had set questions to ask all interviewees and these were asking about previous jobs done, reason for applying and a couple of scenario questions.
ie - what would you do if...... how would you respond to .....
If you practice what your answers would be to these questions, and look at the person spec to try and work out what they will ask. If they ask for typing experience - have you also got WP experience, exel, powerpoint, etc

    Good luck

I work for the PCT and the tests are standard for Admin staff to have. It is just to make sure that the person going for the job can type etc. The tests dont usually last that long. I wouldn't worry about it and good luck with the job and interview.
  • Hi Philippaa,
Hope things are fine with you.
I have seen your post and coming to me I have done my Graduation in Computers and have an interview with NHS admin role.
I suppose to face the same test and I request you if you could please guide me how to prepare for the test please.
I am very desparate for the job, running in debts and had to take care of my Son as well, which sorted me to opt for your favour.
Please do let me know further about the test please.
I have test on 24th Aug please.

Although you do not have long before your test, can I suggest that you get some assistance with your English? Your spelling is good, but your style of writing is very stilted, and would not score highly if asked, for instance, to write a small report or letter.
    Gone ... or have I?
