Some help in letter drafting please:
I had a letter today from the above company collecting on behalf of my son's former nursery.
I don't dispute the debt, but do dispute the amount, and the fact that the company havn't written to bill me etc.
I got a bill in October last year, which was wrong, and asked the staff at the nursery to correct it.
I have since heard nothing whatever from the company, until the letter arrived from Icon Collections:
"TAKE NOTICE
There wil be no further reminders sent to you or any opportunities for you to delay this payment any longer.
Should you wish to avoid a COURT SUMMONS being served on you, payment must be made in full within the next three working days using the pre-paid envelope enclosed.
We are advised you have been previously furnished with full details of our clients claim, however please telephone our offices immediately should this not be the case and we shall endevour to resolve any query you may have.
Please note that our client has consented to legal action and therefore any litigation issued against you may result in your credit rating being adversly affected.
Do not underestimate the seriousness of this matter."
There was no envelope and only an 0870 number to call.
They have been on the phone today!
I need to write to them, the no phone calls, letters only bit, but I also want to question why I have had no letters from the original creditor with the PROPER bill and why this has been passed on, so I need some help with drafting a letter to them.
Please :D

You have the bones of a letter in your post above.

Send that as a formal complaint regsitered post to the nursery, copied to ICON.

I would also suggest that you ring Trading Standards tomorrow and ask for their advice about the letter.

Do not that the operative word is "may". They can try to take you to court to get a CCJ, but you can dispute the amount, so may is very much may rather than will.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
