Best thing to clean cooker hob rings?

The people who had the house previous to us must've never cleaned the rings!

We have a stainless steel hob and the rings around the flame are brown and crusty and horrible - but they are removable!

Is there anything I can soak them in over night in the hope of getting some of the gunk off?

Thanks

Soak them in soda crystals overnight. I either put mine in the DW just before I set it off, or wash them by hand when I'm doing the washing up.

    Hoping somebody can help me.

I have an electric cooker of less than one year old but the hob rings are looking rusty. What is the best way to clean this and stop it from happening again please.

    Thank you:)

If it's less than a year old, I'd be on to the supplier of the hob :)

If that's not possible, I'd scrub the rust off with a wire brush, and see if there's a heat-resistant enamel paint available (but wouldn't hold my breath :o ).

    Hi Trazy

I merged this with the previous thread which has a good suggestion from Greenbee - just in case you do need it :)

Let us know how you get on :)
