  • Well I haven't posted on here for a while, but decided to update is as there have been quite a lot of changes.
First thing is that I'm 7 weeks pregnant :j We were trying, but didn't think we'd be lucky the first time, so that's kind of made sorting the money situation a bit more urgent.
As things stand at the moment, we still owe about £1500 on the boiler, and £1800 on the credit card, but DH and I are getting our bonuses from work in about a week, and so all this debt should be covered.
We have however booked a holiday to Greece, as when the new baby arrives we won't be getting a decent holiday for years probably. I think we're going to pay the majority of the debt off, and leave about £500 on the card, so we can pay the holiday off in full.
I got my laptop, had to pay a £100 excess and got a brand spanking new one, so am very happy about that.
The rest of the plan is to save £500 a month (at least) now we will have paid off nearly all the debt, and that will be for paying the mortgage when I'm on maternity leave.

Well I've waffled a bit there, and 'll try and update it more regularly.
    Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £1200
  • Congruatulations on your pregnancy. Glad you got your laptop sorted. My laptop screen started doing strange things about a month ago and it has been in a repair shop for nearly a week and they are not sure what it wrong with it. It wouldn't bother me that much but it is only 15 months old. So I might have to go down the insurance route.

Glad you are getting your debts sorted. I wish I could have a holiday this year but we are saving up for the wedding and honeymoon next December.

    Catch up with you soon.
