19" version of the same monitor is £159.98 inc vat + delivery. If you read the reviews this one does have a DVI input.
Regarding where it says DVI (optional), this is because Ebuyer have just copied the specs from the manufacturer. The DVI option is the for the retailer to choose, buy them with or without DVI. It does make it confusing when Ebuyer copy details verbatim without checking their own details.
It's the same with MP3 players. Some specs say FM-Tuner (optional). This doesn't mean that we can choose wether to have a built-in radio, the option is for the retailer to buy them with or without.
Best to check the Ebuyer product reviews to see the true specs/features.
smally, these are monitors, not tv'sYe'!, And!!?. How am I supposed to know?0 -
What does DVI do? Thanks. xStudent MoneySaving Club member 017!0

In laymans terms, and I'm no expert, if you use a crt monitor or a tft with only analogue inputs your PC's graphics card is performing a digital to analogue conversion to send data to your monitor. By having a digital connection it does away with the conversion so therefore the data is cleaner. You get a cleaner picture.
I'm sure someone will correct me or explain better.
Bear in mind though that if you want to use the dvi input on the monitor your PC's graphics card needs to have DVI output.Ye'!, And!!?. How am I supposed to know?0 -
also if someone can make it clear(excuse the pun) What..real..difference is there between Dvi & analogue picture quality?0
-
I think it depends on the monitor. Some monitors you can't tell much difference - others you can. Mine is a Samsung 173P and I use DVI - mainly because most of the picture adjustments are done automatically using DVI.0
