Remained strong for so long but now I am falling apart...

My husband and I have huge debts over 5 creditors. We earn good money between us and were able to pay monthly and live comfortably... until I fell pregnant. I had my baby in May and have just returned to work. I have gone back full time to ensure I earn as much as I can. My daughter goes to nursery 3 days a week so not getting as much as I use to. Anyway I am waiting to review my DMP with CCCS. I phoned them at the beginning of Feb and the earliest date they gave me is 10th March. In the mean time one debt has been passes to 1st Credit (who thankfully don't have my phone number), my husband's biggest debt is with MSC at the moment who are threatening attachment of earnings (he works in a tiny company of 4 people including the owner) and today I got the court judgement back for a Santander loan and although the court has agreed the same payment as CCCS I am sure it will go back to court as it is only £9 (what I was offering whilst on SMP). I just want to get my new DMP sorted so I can say to the creditors I can now pay you a lot more but it is all taking too long! I just want to cry!

  • Hang in there, Jules, some of the stuff sounds like you are just waiting around for, if thats the case there isn't much you can do about it.

I have these 3 questions I ask myself if I am worrying or stressed about something.

'What's the problem?' - Sounds obvious but if you really nail it down exactly it does help.

'Why is it a problem?' - Same as the above really, makes you think clearly and in a straight line.

'What can I do about it?' - If you can do something about it, then good, you can do that. But if the answer is nothing, then you can stop worrying about it for now.

It's really a logic game and a way of challenging the way you are thinking, if I didn't do it, I would spend my days running around screaming coz I can't think straight.
Not an expert, but I try and contribute and I'll always listen. Middle child of middle child parents. I drink way too much coffee.
