  • Firstly welcome.

Yes you can write to the creditors offering them payments of £1.

But firstly I would suggest you use this link https://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc and work out what you owe and what you pay out.

Once you can see it in black and white it's easier to understand where the savings can be made. People will also be able to advise on what benefits you can claim. What have you done with your redundancy payout? If you qualified.

There are new legal rules coming into account this year. How much do you owe?

  • I owed when this all started around £7500 on one and £11200 on one the other i am still paying minimum payment is £1700
I did not get any redundancy only 1 weeks pay as I work part time it just got eaten up in the overdraft on the bank account, there are now lots of extra charges as this has been going on since september last year.
  • You might want to post on the BR board as well, but if I'm understanding you correctly, still having a deficit on your SoA after BR isn't a barrier to it - I had this when I went BR, but it still went through - we just had to earn more money to pay the essential bills (which we did by hook or by crook). It's why you have a deficit that's important and what you can do to reverse that. For more specific advise on BR, go post on that board and contact National Debtline, CAB or CCCS again :)

    Good luck :)

And if you do not go BR, then you need to reclam those charges and check whether you have or had any PPI
