hi,
Went to look for the B&Q Sony dvd's and found they were sold out.
Went to Sainsbury's to have a look and found that not only did they have dvd+r's on offer but they had an even better deal as the dvd+r's were 16x not 8x as the Sony were.
Good luck!!

Yes, there were some dvd RWs packs of 10 with jeweled boxes, for a similiar price but only 4x speed0

you get what you pay for when it comes to blank media such as DVDs and CDs. verbatim are not too bad but expect about a third of all discs to be defective, meaning 25 disks is really more like 17-18 useable disks0

Verbatims are very good discs. I have used a few hundreds with only a couple of bad discs. https://www.svp.co.uk is good for buying blank media.0 -
I agree Verbatim are excellent discs, I have never had any trouble with them. Even my first generation PS2 will play the DVD+R. Other discs like Bulkpaq just skip alot.0

I agree - Verbatim are generally considered to be one of the best.
(I want DVD-Rs though

Bought some of these from sains at a higher price and they are great. Not one problem in 30 burns. Discs are nice and plain as well.0

The quality of the Verbatim 16x DVD+R is among the best. The media code is MCC004. Refer to http://club.cdfreaks.com/ for discussion of disc quality.0

Nice price for a good disc. I just got some Taiyo Yudens but I may get these as well!0

Discs from a particular brand varies widely. You can't judge all Verbatim discs the same way, though their quality is more consistent than other brands.
It's dependent upon the particular batch, place of manufacture and dye type. The DVD writer and firmware version is also a major factor.
Verbatim discs with a Mitsubishi MCC or Taiyo Yuden dye are excellent when burnt with a decent writer with good firmware. Verbatim discs with a CMC dye aren't quite as good but many will still burn perfectly fine with the right writer and firmware. Overall, Verbatim discs are superior to most other brands when you compare them as a group.
Do some reading at CD Freaks as mentioned above, and if you're really concerned about the quality of burns, perform your own error tests.0
