Disco for reception

Hi, we are renewing our wedding vows in july and need to find a decent disco that doesn't cost the earth, we would like the dj to be set up for when we arrive, roughly 6-6.30 and stay until about 12.00. Any ideas please, the reception is going to be at the great barr hotel, great barr, west mids. We have already phoned loads of dj's from off of yell.com but are worried that they may just turn up with a sound deck and a few lights.

Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

Does the venue have a regular DJ that they use?

Our evening do is booked at a nightclub/bistro so we're just using their usual guy - at least he'll know where everything is...

I would ask the venue who they recommend. You're better off getting a recommendation because you don't want a DJ who just empties the dancefloor! I was gutted when we didn't get the DJ we wanted (despite trying to book him a year in advance), but he then recommended someone else who we promptly booked. We figured he'd be the best person to know a good DJ lol
