Hi I would like to give my best friend a birthday present-tea or light lunch for at the Ritz Hotel in London.
I was hoping if any one would know the cheapest method of giving this.:o
She will visit the Ritz around the week of June 15th.
I await your kind suggestions.
TIA

The website http://www.afternoontea.co.uk/ lists hotels and places that do afternoon tea.
Not sure if there is a cheap way to do it though! I think Toptable also have an afternoon tea section; they have lots of special offers for other things so maybe you can find an offer there?Life must be lived forwards, but can only be understood backwards - Kierkegaard0 -
I went for tea at the Ritz last year. It cost £37/each and I have to say it was one of the biggest wastes of money, ever. Now, I'm no stranger to nice, expensive restaurants and hotels and am happy to pay - if they're worth the money. The Ritz wasn't. £37 for a coupe of sandwiches, cup of tea and cake. I also felt like a real second class citizen cos we were only there for the "afternoon tea" - plus you had a timed 90 minute slot, hardly a leisurely afternoon.
I understand there's something exciting about "tea at the Ritz" but I think the money could be far better spent elsewhere in my humble opinion! There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.
Noone can have everything they want and the sooner you learn that the better.
MSE Aim: To have more "thanks" than "posts"! :T0 -
I've read that before on here about the afternoon tea, probably on the Travel Board but if I was given the choice I think I'd go for lunch at Gordon Ramsay's Claridges here...
