Hi there,
Just a quick question - I forgot to freeze some pork steaks I had, found them in fridge with use by date of yesterday. I did find them at 6.30am, nice and early and they're now in the freezer. Can I just check they'll be ok to eat and to feed my kids? It was daughter that wanted them and I really don't want to chuck £4 of meat out just as it was 6.5 hours past sell by date;)
Thanks:p

I'd have absolutely no hesitation in using them - unless you bought them early morning and didn't put them in the fridge until late at night.
Even then, I'd be inclined to smell them when thawed and if they smell OK, I'd use them.0 -
Thanks very much for the replies - I did give them a sniff before freezing and they were fine. I did think if I'd seen them at midnight I'd have happily frozen them, so I doubt 6 hours later will make a lot of difference;)

All the above.
When you defrost them you can do it quickly. Put them a frying pan (not hot or on the heat) and they will defrost within an hour (turn them occasionally to speed it along). The metal draws the the cold away like a heat sink.0
