Bought some branded liquid soap in Poundland thinking I had done well
Then saw same soaps on sale in Wilkinsons for 89p each
Noticed several other items cheaper in Wilkinsons
Don't always assume that becase it's cheap it's the cheapest

Some poundland stuff is rubbish.......ie their paint roller/tray is C..... however ready pasted vinyl @£1 per roll is fantastic................0

I've been in Home Bargains before and seen things that are stocked in poundland for less than a £1:j30/7/10:j

Yeah, you do need to think about what you are buying and know the prices elsewhere. I only buy things in Poundland if I need them and know they cost more elsewhere0

It's how they make their money. It's easy to get caught in the pound shop bargain mentality when in there.0

My DH is caught in the £ shop mentality and thinks that because it's on sale there he won't get it cheaper - I've tried telling him it's not always the case, but it's not getting through!0

Irrespective of whether a shop is called £1 or £5, it is usual for everything within the shop to be sold at either £1 or £5. One would assume then that if a packet of polo's was available for either if those amounts, that's what you would be expected to pay. They don't claim to be cheaper, they claim to sell at £1 or £5, YOU decide if it's a bargain or not. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Very often, the supermarket own brands are cheaper than Poundland. Asda bubble bath is 64p for a litre!I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
