Cheap Port At Asda

In my local Asda last night they had Cockburns/Dows port at half price - down to about £3.50 a bottle.
OH delighted as his Xmas stock was just about done !!

Thanks to bargainhunter - I got the last two bottles on the shelf at Asda in South Woodham Ferrers yesterday, interesting difference in price though - £4.36. Still a good deal though....

We ran down to ASDA in Benton, Newcastle upon Tyne on fri night and they had loads, was £3.41, bargain!

Can anyone who bought any of this Dows or Cockburns port, post the barcode number please ?

Only I called in ASDA today and the Dows Midnight is £6.82 - it's been this price for months and has not had any offer on it recently.
The cheapest Cockburns is about £8

They do have several other bottles of port with £1 to £3 ish off but all £6+

YEP! that's what I wrote down in store an hour ago - barcode is 5010867203273 for the Dows Midnight

Just spoke to "nationwide" customer service (0500 100055) and they reckon it should be £6.82 - as per the online price.

I suggest anyone who wants to get some more does so immediately before they change their mind !!

Not reduced at Brierley Hill, either, although Merry Hill had reduced some - including Warre's Otima - but sold out (surprise! surprise!).

Ah, well ... can't win 'em all!

AN UPDATE:

I've spoken again to CS on the freephone number who this time managed to contact the "wine buyer" to get more information.

This is NOT a nationwide "blanket" offer across all stores but is down to individual branches that have "high stock levels" of this/these products left over from the Christmas promotions etc.

So if anyone that finds this in a particular store could post where, I'm sure we would all appreciate it.
