broken oven - brownie help

Options
My rather old gas oven is on it's way out I'm afraid. Unless it's set to 250C the gas flame goes out, and cannot be reignited. This isn't a great issue - most things can be done on the hob or in the slow cooker if they need a lower temp but I'm a bit stuck when it comes to brownies, which my OH loves.

I guess I could just cook them in a hot oven but I'm guessing I'd lose all that lovely gooey chocolateyness. Any suggestions for cooking brownies without an oven?

There is no way we can afford to replace the oven for months so will have to come up with an alternative.

Not a cooking tip, but how about looking around for a microwave with oven on offer, on freecycle, or second hand shops? They can be picked up relatively cheaply when on offer.

It sounds like your thermocouple has failed, which is a fairly standard fault that almost all gas cookers will eventually develop. It can normally be fixed very cheaply and quickly, almost certainly within the minimum call out time, so I'd just call a repairman and ask for an idea what it would cost.
