Hi,
This is my first time on here and I really need help & advice please. I am £10k in debt and I have no idea what to do. I can't tell anyone bout this as my parents will disown me as they don't believe in borrowing & credit cards etc and I daren't tell my boyfriend as I fear he will break up with me. I dread the phone ringing incase it is someone chasing money, all I want is to be debt free but there seems to be no end to it. I can't sleep for worrying about it and somedays there only ever seems to be one way out.
Please can someone help me, I am only 23 but feel my life is over.
Thank you.
Thanks to the kind person who pointed me in the right direction of where to post.

Can you post a soa so we can see where it may be possible for you to save on your outgoings?0

Hi Nitla,
Good to see your post
.
Like Spam.jam I'm here to gather advice and cleverness rather than give it but I know that you will be asked to post an SOA which is a list of your income, outgoings and debts. There is a link at the top of the thread index.
Please believe me when I tell you that life is not over. You will get lots of fabulous tips on how to get this debt under control.
I think Sunday night can be a bit quiet but tomorrow morning you'll get lots of replies
.
Huge hugs to you,
Sam,

edit: here it is http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html
nitla, if you fill it in and then cut and paste it in a message here in your thread, people will be able to help you sort out and balance your income and outgoings, and also help sort out the debt xProud to be dealing with my debts Nerd #992 LBM 30.06.08 Debt [strike]£3292[/strike] £1646 (50% paid, all interest free) Sealed pot member #434 £65.09 & Virtual sealed pot member #001 £82.07+£33.04+£112.83=£227.94 Gave up smoking 30.01.09 DfDay 01.12.09

Here's the link. Choose format for MSE at the bottom.
hi Nitla, as the others say you will get loads of advice on here. I'm sorry to hear that you don't have anyone in your family or 'real-life' to discuss these things with but from now on you have us. And we will offer support and suggestions and just be here when it all seems to get on top of you. Good luck and do keep posting.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Don't feel that people will judge you for posting your soa, many people have been in a far worse position. There is always a way around things, even if it isn't immediately obvious to you. You have recognised there is a problem and that is the biggest step.0

Try not to worry Nitla. As others have said, once you post you SOA, there will be something for people to comment on and thus provide you with advice to reduce your outgoings and also provide you with some important morale support (as it appears from your post that you are somewhat on your own).
Well done for your post...0 -

Hi Nitla,
Firstly, a dodgy group hug for you! :grouphug: You've taken the first step in sorting your problem, and in no time at all you'll be debt busting like a pro!!
Like everyone else has said, the first thing you need to do is get your SOA up, it'll help you get everything clear in your head, and also let everyone else get on with giving you some great advice!!
I know it probably seems as though there's no light at the end of the tunnel at the moment - but you'll be amazed how quickly that turns around! At your age I had just over £20k debt, 1.5 years later I have approx £5 k - and if it wasn't for the fact I'm going to uni in the summer, that would be gone within a few months!
If I can do it (and believe, at one point I could've given even the best shopaholic a run for their money!), then you can too!!
You'll get lots of help, advice and support on here, and maybe when you have a grip on the situation yourself, you'll find it easier to confide in your family and your boyf - but one step at a time hey!
Anyway - get everything down on paper, then read a book or have a bath or summit, and get yourself off to bed - everything'll seem much better in the morning when you've had a decent sleep, and when all the good advice starts pouring in!
