PayPlan

Options
Hi, I am new to this and not sure if anyone can give me any advice or experience with Payplan.
I have had to go this route for obvious reasons and di so last July 08, I have been paying what I can which has al gone through Payplan, but I continue to get harassing letters from cerditors. Is this always going to happen, does anyone have experience of this. I have written to all creditors and solicitors that write to me but seem to still get them. They have at the moment touch wood stopped calling.
I thought I would be feeling a little happier by now as I have finally taken hold of things, but feel rubbish.
Has anyone got any words of wisdom?
Many thanks for taking the time read this

  • This does still happen. I'm with CCCS and have been for the last year and still get letters etc. Just inform Payplan and let them deal with it.

As for the telephone calls, just ignore them. Or if you do answer the call, don't go through their security questions, give them your Payplan ref no and hang up.

It does get easier, you've just gotta ride the storm from time to time. My creditors tend to kick off every so often so I just do as I've mentioned and ignore their calls. They soon give up!

    Good luck.

    Hi Paula,

Speak to Payplan about the problems you're having. Lloyds TSB were being a nightmare with us long after our DMP was established  .

Payplan couldn't do very much except keep sending the same figures month after month. However, they told me that they were having the same problem with TSB for lots of their clients. In my head this changed the worry that we were doing something wrong to knowledge that TSB are just a bunch of lying, threatening, bullying, thieving scumbags :rotfl: . Not that I bear a grudge :rotfl:.

But seriously, if you're playing fair with your DMP and Payplan are supporting you, you will start to have more confidence in yourself and the creditors letters will bother you less. You are doing the right thing in starting a DMP and dealing with your debts.

Write to each individual company that's giving you grief, mark your letter "FORMAL COMPLAINT"

Inform them that if they fail to deal with your appointed representative you will seek adjudication through the relevant authorities for failing to adhere to OFT guidelines:

    2.8

    d. contacting debtors directly and bypassing their appointed representatives
    e. operating a policy, without reason, of refusing to negotiate with
    debt management companies.

    Send by recorded delivery
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
