  • he will lose the money he gets for you (adult dependancy increase) but will keep the IB paid for him
  • thank you for your reply, i thought he would loose the extra he gets for me, but wasn't sure if he would loose his money he gets.
They don't make any of sites simple to use!
  • I agree, I would have thought the element for you would be lost however if your OH is not working then it should be okay plus as Incapacity benefit is not a means-tested State Benefit then it doesnt matter how much money is in the bank or being brought in by a partner.

  • No my husband is not working, he is waiting for an op on his back,he is the one claiming but he gets money for me too, so i thought i would get a job instead of being stuck at home.
I was just worried they may stop his IB too, if that was the case we wouldn't have enough money to makes ends met if i went to work and they stopped the IB totally
  • Does he get DLA?
  • No just Incapacity benefit for himslf and extra for me

I am not sure of your dh's full medical condition, but you should do some research in to DLA . He needs to have had is condition for at least 3 months.
  • he has had the condition for nearly 2 years, he has been on IB since dec 07 he had a op on his back last april (he had a prolapsed disc, now he has another 1 and is waiting for another op date to come through,
