I completely agree about talking to the children about their dad He is, after all, still their father. I believe/hope that this may actually allow him to spend more quality time with them.

I hope that I am right as they are gorgeous. But I would say that. I am their mum.
Top attitude - I don't know if you were around when I posted that I had to have 'firm' words with my ex as his mother was calling me in front of my two and they were finding that very hard. I pointed out to him that I wasn't criticising him in front of them (just everyone else;)) and I expected hinm and his mother to do the same...
what makes it hard is that they still love their father (as they should) ...he had to realise that. Even now sensible conversations between him and me are few and far between but they do happen...he has moved on now, got a new partner so IMHO he should be able to deal with this maturely.
I echo what everyone else says...you will be fine (great about the shirts though :rotfl: when I see people posting on here about the problems with OHs (and some of them are so immature it has to be said, as was mine) I am glad I am with Crafty and Greenbee

    Morning all

Had a very lazy one here so far. Just watch Grand Designs and chatted with my friend on the phone.

Miss A has a one to one swimming lesson this lunch time to see if the teacher can get her to do her breast stroke legs properly. After that we are going out with another friend, not sure exactly where yet but won;t be back until late afternoon. First friend is round to babysit later so I can go bellringing tonight so not a lot is going to get done at all around here. But I have emptied the DW this morning so this post is on topic :p

Do have to say all this talk of man bashing though has got me a bit sad. I know a lot of it is justified but what I would give to be able to man bash mine at this mo.

Hugs to MNSC for the loss of your mu, never easy even when it is expected.

So what should i do??... do i "re-do" the bath/toilet and sink and risk him noticing that i re-did them?? or do i just leave them as they are even though they are kinda streaky and as still abit mucky??

It this point im just wary of making him feel like he's not doing a good job, because it will discourage him, he's not gonna bother helping if he thinks i'll re-do it all anyway... eekkk decisions decisions.
DH does things like this, I usually say in a nice tone of voice: "THANKS SO MUCH DARLING, I'm so happy you did such and such....I was thinking, maybe next time you could use (insert cleaning product) as it (sanitizes/makes it easier for you/makes it look better/what ever the benefit of using said product is).
What ever you do, don't say "I usually use..." as the answer will be "well you do it then!" Remember what someone said yesterday, men need lots of praise like a puppy dog does!

  • Hi all, i've not been on here this wk as sadly my mum passed away sunday and cleaning has been the last thing on my mind. I have got the vicar coming up in the morning though so i am going to have to have a quick clean up tonight as i don't want to look like i live in a pigs sty. I will try and get back into things next wk as keeping busy seems to help. Mum battled with cancer for many many years without ever complaining and she gave her family such a wonderful life. I will always be greatful for the time we had. Now i am going to make some breakfast and force myself to get in the shower.
I'm so sorry for your loss sweetheart. Keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on, nobody will mind if you want to talk on here, or send me a PM if you need to talk. Take care of yourself, am thinking of you :grouphug:
