Could someone advise me whether this would be a good pc for my needs. Current one needs to be flung in the bin there's so many problems/faults.

Would be using it mainly for surfing, e-mailing, downloading cds/dvds and possibly playing a few games ie sims, player manager footie games or sports games.

The only thing I was going to do was add an extra 512 memory which would take it up to 1000+.

From having a browse through comp mags and the websites for dell, pc world it looks pretty good and a bit cheaper than some of the products they have.

Generally I think products from aldi are above average especially the medion range but would like to hear other peoples views.

Bought one for my son for christmas----in august last year---- and saved it cos have 3 year warranty. It was £500. He does all the things you have listed. It plays and records Freeview TV, but he is not interested in that. I'm going to buy another one for my other son's birthday later in the year. I think they are good value for money.

Aldi are doing this as a weekly special tomorrow. I think its a great bargain. Its the base unit, keyboard and mouse with a 3 year warranty and helpline. Its the best Ive seen. Similar spec cost me over £900 2 years ago. They are also doing a 17" LCD monitor to go with it for £139
The mother in law is getting one tomorrow. Only downside is that I will have to set it up for her!!!
