Ccj

Not sure where to post this, so thought i would start here.

In 2004 i had a CCJ for a small amount (£280) from Capital one, which was paid within a month (maybe a little longer) of the CCJ. It was really silly, and wish i had sorted it at the time, but anyway.....

I am hoping to buy a house next year, obviously the CCJ will still be there, does anyone think it is worth while me writing to Capital one to ask if they would agree with it being removed?

They have even given me a new card since the CCJ so i cant be THAT bad?!

The CCJ is on The Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines; it's out of Capital One's control. Be sure it shows up on your credit record as Satisfied.
  • It does.
Although i thought that if it was cleared then the issuing company to agree for it to be removed?

I might be wrong, but I've never heard of that happening after 28 days of the CCJ being given..

Reason being, a CCJ is a Court order and as such it is issued by a Court. The claimant merely requests that the Court gives that order.

It can only be removed if it was issued incorrectly.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
