Hi my wife is 60 in November, when she worked she nearly always paid the lower stamp, and a review by the pensions said she was only entitled to PENCE,even though she worked for many years.-My question is will she be entitled to a pension at 60 based on my [her husband] contributions ?---she claims carers allowance for me as i aged 61 have had to be medically retired, will she loose this carers allowance when i reach 65???-so many ifs and butts-thanks jim:cool:

She will be able to claim a pension of 60% of yours but only when you reach 65.---she claims carers allowance for me as i aged 61 have had to be medically retired, will she loose this carers allowance when i reach 65???-so many ifs and butts-thanks jim:cool:
I can't help you with this, sorry.0 -
She will lose her carer's allowance when her state pension kicks in when you turn 65.Trying to keep it simple...

Unfortunately working for many years will entitle her to nothing in the way of pension if she only everpaid the married womens' stamp. This did not ever count towards any State Pension. The 'pence' will be a little bit of Graduated Pension.
As mentioned above, she will be entitled to claim 60% based on your contributions, but not until you reach 65.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
