  • Hi homealone

Unless you have a spare large lump sum you are unlikely to get a full and final settlement as you usually have to pay all of what you are offering soon after agreeing the F&F with them.

If you do a DMP then you will need to put together a income aqnd expenditure sheet. You can do this yourself and then send off to your creditors yourself with a breakdown of your debts and the amount you propose to pay to each creditor each month. Creditors are unlikely to accept allowances that are much more than the agencies are offering you unless your circumstances are truly exceptional. If you put together a SOA and post it we may be able to help you work out how you can live within the allowances.

this is obviously different to what is allowed on my budget sheet with the national debtline but dont know how that varies from agency to agency can i supply any plan from any agency even if not necessarily doing it through them. also sorry but figures may need to be adjusted because of adding stuff like medical supplies, sorry
  • You could always fill in the debt remedy on line on the CCCS website. There is no obligation but it will tell you what you are allowed in terms of your I&E and it may give you an idea of where to start and you could use their figures to send to your creditors.

In terms of F&F's I did have lump sums to offer some of my creditors.
Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free :)
    Mortgage free since 2014 :)

i did fill that in couple of weeks ago but dont remember what outcome was think it ended up with someone having to ring me then it all gets a bit blurry after that but i can fill in another one if you think it may help. i would also have lump sum of £7000
  • I did find my debt remedy plan with cccs and it is incorrect as some details are missing, dont know whether i should complete a new one or just wait to see what budget plan says when it arrives from national debtline. the debt remedy does allow for a lot more than the budget sheet you would send along with a F & f application but i dont have a definitive form that you would send in these applications. if i were to use a budget plan sent to me by one of these agencies and tweaked it a bit so some of what they deem luxury could be taken into account would that cause a problem. as in do any of the creditors contact the agencies themselves once they have received these budget plans??? does anyone have any more dealings with the agencies once the budget plan is sent and you are armed with sample letters??? or do you go it alone from there? would you need to contact them again even once the creditors agreed your pro rata????
  • Hi homealone

I thought I would check in and see how you are doing

Looking at your SOA you have £300+ to put towards your debts, this could easily be pushed up by cuttign back ont eh groceries which you seem tospend quite a lot on. Your gas and leccy are quite high too, I don't want to get too personal but does your disability keep you in the house and is that why your gas and leccy is high??

Clothing and satelite need to go, if you use TV instead of other entertainment then that could be represented in the entertainment line for now. Also I think that you maybe should stop putting aside for an emergency for now and concentrate on hammering the debts.

Pocket money for your son and the money you put aside for presents is quite high too, you might want to have a think about these as together they come in at approx £1000 a year.

If you do a DMP then you can do it yourself and cut out the agencies if they are getting confusing. A F&F is very different and involves making a lump sum offer. Some agencies do all the work for you after you have sent the letters (eg CCCS and Payplan) and they will talk you through what you need to send

Have you had a phone interview with any of them yet?? That might help to get things straight as I suspect that the allowances end up broadly the same int he end but that they cound different things in different places

    All the best

  • Just saw that hun and posted there, sorry you feel so pants, we can help you through this but I am worried that you are feeling so low generally that you are struggling to see the wood for the trees.

Does your son know how you feel and is he aware of all this??? Can he give you any support?
