Want a 8ft x 6ft shed.
B&Q have one for £199. Looked around but not found cheaper.
Anyone had one of these? Any good?
Who else do good value sheds other than B&Q/Focus/Argos.

Is it the Walton Apex Double Door Shed ( code EAN 0000003369609 ) ? If so i put one up for my dad the end of last year. Excellent value for a tongue and groove double door shed, only a few minor complaints - around the windows its a bit flimsy and the roof felt is a bit poor. I also replaced some of nails with screws for added strength.
You would obviously get a better quilty shed but end up paying possibly twice the price. Overall he was very pleased with it and as long as you give it a few coats of treatment it should still last many years.
Hope this helps.0 -
Hi
Have you tried your local garden centres, just bought one from ours, dearer than B&Q, but much better quality, the b&q ones are very cheap tongue and groove wood, and very flimsy.
I don't want to ever buy another one, so I'd thought I'd pay the extra and get a decent one that will last.
Hope this helps0 -

Rot & Rodent Proof"
8' by 6' - £246.99, delivery is £5.99
I know it is more expensive than you were thinking of, but it may be worth the extra? You'd also have to consider buying a floor for it etc, though.

I bought an 8 x 6 from Focus about three months ago for my daughter. I think it was £99 but they were doing 10% off on top of that.
It is tongue and groove with a window on the side and a tongue and groove door - timber floor and felt roof.
OK it's not the strongest shed in the world but was perfectly adequate and should last for many years. I don't know if they are still doing them.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!0 -
As wonderfullife suggests, if you want a decent garden shed scout round some local suppliers for something of quality.
About 5 years ago, I and my neighbours all bought a graden shed each - many opted for a cheapie from B&Q/Focus/Wickes etc. I, on the other hand, thought the shed supplied by the big retailers of poor quality (i.e. the floor/roof was often made of OSB (Oriented Strand Board) that warps and disintegrates if it becomes wet, the T&G boards were thin & flimsy and the frame was made from small gauge timber)
I then found a local timber merchant selling garden sheds that were much better made, completely T&G, and the frames were of larger gauge timber. The Roofing felt supplied was much heavier than the low cost "shed" felt supplied by others - this was more like top felt for outbuildings. The roof itself also came fully framed, as opposed to a couple of boards to nail to the walls.
Although the overall cost was around 35% higher than the cheaper alternatives, most of my neighbours sheds are now falling down, partly because the roofing felt has rotted away a couple of years ago, partly because the shed walls have given way under the stress of garden tools lying aginst them, and partly because of some recent storms a couple of months ago.
My shed on the other hand is as good today as the day I bought it (although I did have to apply a new coat of weather protection last autumn)
Having said that, one of the neighbours did move about a year ago leaving the old shed in-situ, so for them the cheap shed was a shrewd buy.
So if you want a long lasting shed, check out your local timber merchant, or specialist portable building specialist.
I never knew there was so much to garden shed design, until I spent a few weeks researching about 5 years ago
Edit: Just remembered, a mate of mine had one delivered by these guys last autumn - it wasn't cheap but it was good quality.
