how does one go about paying own NI and Tax as a self employed person ?

YOu need to register with HMRC within 3 months of starting to trade. The forms are at www.hmrc.gov.uk or you can ring the special helpline. Your c lass 2 NIC's will be paid by DD monthly (about £2.50) I think.
At the end of the tax year you will be issued with a self assessment form which you complete with your accounts. teh tax is payable in 2 installments on 31 Jan and 31 July in the year following the tax year in which your accounts fall.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
