  • The CRB checks your entire criminal record, any activity will be brought up.

If you are working with vulnerable older people they will run your details against the POVA register to make sure you haven't been barred from working with older people.

If you have anything on your record, its best to inform your employers before you apply. Depending what it was it might not stop you getting the job, just as long as you are honest.

  • Don't worry. I don't think you have to disclose it cos it was so long ago and would ve considered as spent.
    Good luck

  • From what youve described, you have no criminal convictions. It would only have shown up if you had been found guilty at court, but as you were acquitted, I dont see any problem for you.

I know some checks will bring up arrests aswell, but as nitnurse said, as its so long ago, it would porbably be considered spent and not even come up. I doubt it will even be on the Police National Computer (PNC) anymore aswell.

    Good luck.
  • Do CRB checks bring up stuff you did before you were 18?

I was arrested and given a reprimand when I was 16 and now always worry it will affect me getting a job if a CRB check was done.

It depends on the type of CRB check you need - to work with Children and Vulnerable people you may need an enhanced check - http://www.crbcheck.info/Disclosures.aspx - Enahnced checks involve a second 'layer' of checks, which may include current police investigations - the results of this will be sent direct to the person who countersigned the application only (ie you won't see them, as this may affect any police investigation on you)
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Juvenile records will (Generally) only stay on Police records for 10 years, so if youre over 26, then Id say you shouldnt worry. Also, the fact it was a reprimand means that it isnt a criminal conviction, and you dont have to disclose it to an employer.
