Finances were really tight and we were having problems when I started posting here. Following advice on here we have maintained a quality of life while shrinking the bills a bit to pay off debts. DH has changed jobs to one better paid so that he works less hours for the same wage. The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0

We have more income because I was the only one working as the OH was poorly (heart attack then depression). Now he is on the mend at back at work part time. But i think before then we would have just spent more as soon as we had more. Now I make an effort with prices, make plans & minimise waste & miraculously we have a few savings for the first time since the kids were born (read - drain on my resources) 16 years ago. I cant OS full time unless we want to be re-possessed but I enjoy my part time O/Sing & like have a few quid left over for a change even more.
Thanks everyone for the help & ideas & thanks Martin ofcourse for the big savings too.

Our income increases with the pension rises and then goes down as they introduce increased council tax charges, water charges, increase in gas and ekectricity, so we are no better off...........everything really just stays the same very depressing.

our income has increased after reading, at's thread on selling books on amazon, we have sold loads since august and then went onto selling on ebay after that. between the two sites i paid for our holiday in fuenventura in november, which really pleased all of the family. ds2 aged 9 also sold stuff on ebay and contributed to holiday fund which was really sweet of him and has taught him that things like holidays do cost money!!'If you judge people, you have no time to love them'

our income increased but only because OH changed jobs which resulted in an extra £8k a year BUT just two months later we had to take out a loan for £5k. Between the loan, car expenses (we had a company car prior to that so had NO costs at all except personal petrol costs) and overpaying on the credit cards and our increased rent, all our pay increase has been eaten up!Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Our income goes up and down depending on whether oh can find work, he had an industrial accident 12 years ago & lost all vision in one eye & half vision in other eye. This makes it difficult for him to find work, we get small amount of benefit, I take in lodgers & work full time. The mind is like a parachute, it works best when open0
