GE Money Contact

Hi,

Hoping someone can advise me ! Please! Had LBM in December. Have been paying token payments of £5 to all my creditors and have now arranged a DMP with Payplan. First payment went to them this month. So far A&L have agreed to the plan, but this week HSBC have called me everyday requesting payment in full of my overdraft, even though I am within my limit ????

But, this morning I have received a letter from GE money asking me to call them before they will consider my proposal. They have 'certain items to discuss'. Is this normal? Payplan have sent them all my financial details, so I don't know what else they will want.

Should I call them? Are they going to ask me for more money? Are they going to question the figures for my expenditure that payplan suggested? Normally I'm not too worried about calling the creditors but GE are horrible !

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks for all the help you guys have given before!

Yes it's normal for them I think. My DMP is with CCCS, GE Money were the first of my creditors to accept the payment proposals (very fast reply actually). They have sent me a couple of standard 'get in touch' letters and one asking for an expenditure breakdown but all I did was send them a copy of the DMP info from CCCS that they'd already been sent and so far I've had nothing back. I think a lot of the letters sent out are automated.
I asked all my creditors to cease phone calls and remove my numbers from their database (I asked this on my very first letter to them) and only Egg kept calling until I spoke to them last week (first time I've answered one of their calls) and told them politely to s*d off and look at the letters I sent them.
I wouldn't call them, just send your budget info from Payplan and tell them not to phone you in your covering letter.

    Thanks reaver,

Payplan didn't send me any info to pass to creditors. I have a copy of my I&E which they sent me as my copy. Shall I just photo copy this and send it to GE. It has my signature on it and is also the agreement with payplan. What do you think?

Don't call them, in your covering letter refer them back to Payplan, you may also like to remind them of OFT guidelines:

    2.8
    c. refusing to deal with appointed or authorised third parties, such
as Citizens Advice Bureaux, independent advice centres or money
    advisers.
    d. contacting debtors directly and bypassing their appointed representatives

GE Money weren't a big problem for me. I ignored their calls as the first couple weren't particularly nice. They sent letters for 3 months and then accepted payments. Almost as soon as they had accepted they passed my debts on to CL Finance who have been fine. Have had to call them a couple of times and they've always been ok.

I would write to them - requesting that all communication be in writing and remind them that payplan are dealing with your repayments.

    Thanks GeorgeUk,

Will try writing and also requesting them to remove my contact number. In the whole time I've had the cc, I've only got one £12 pound charge for a late payment. At the mo they are still adding plenty of interest but no charges !!

Am worried even more now though as just read the post about link financial and court papers!
