Cancelling Direct Debits

Hello All
New to the boards, been lurking for a while, finally had a lightbulb moment and have contacted Payplan who are currently putting together a DMP for me.
I have a question, i have some direct debits set up to pay some of my creditors who are being approached for the DMP, is it wise to leave the direct debit alone for the time being and continue paying? or is it better to cancel the direct debit and let them know i am going through Payplan?
Would appreciate any advice.
I would like to thank everyone who contributes to this board, it has been a great help to me.
Thanks

If you are going through Payplan and they advised cancelling DD then cancel all DD for all creditors that you are seeking help from Payplan with.
But also notify each company that you have done this and that you are acting on the advice of Payplan.
Hope its some help. Good Luck£2.00 savings club =£2.000 -
Payplan advise you to say nothing to your main bank in case they start seizing your salary - which they have a right to do. This would also mean that if you bank with, say, Lloyds, and your credit card is also Lloyds don't tell them what you've done. Payplan only tell your main bank about the DMP after you have opened another basic bank account and confirmed that your salary is being paid into that one.0
