I hate Lloyds

Theyve taken out charges again this month and have now given us an unplanned overdraft (we alread have one for £1300!!) We dont want a bigger overdraft.
Do they have a right to do this? Id rather them write to us telling us they cannot take payment out and I will go to bank and cash more money rather than get more overdraft and be charged £15 per day for it:eek: (10 days max each month)

We are paying off our loan with them (£485 left) then hopefully clearing up overdraft and SHUTTING ACCOUNT INSTANTLY:D

  • Just to say as long as I am aware banking code means they can't charge you for being overdrawn if it's their charges that make you over drawn, not sure if this will help with anything
Looking for solutions and hoping for a miracle!
  • It is their charges that are making us overdrawn. How do we get them to take them off?

If they did this they would charge you for the letter . Did you mean you you would rather they bounced a payment and left you more money in the account to draw out?

The problem with bank charges is they can escalate causing you to go overdrawn, causing more charges ect ect ,you need to do a cash forecast. Draw up a calender ,list when all payments are coming in /going out if this shows a shortful in any week try and get your dd's moved ,write down every time you write a cheque or make a card payment treating them as though they have debited your account instantly.Never just rely on what the bank balance is currently always work to what the balance will be in a month

    Hi

Move your current account away from Lloyds and get a basoc account eselwhere into which you put your salary etc. set a proper budget and get the DDs out of there plus an SO for the Lloyds accounts.

Also write to your local MP and explain how Lloyds, which is laregely state owned, is "recapitalising" itself and getting the money to pay its staff bonuses. The Government simply have not joined up the dots yet - they are rewarding banks for screwing the pulic but do not understand this.

    And write to your
