HFC and Capquest

Hi
I have a loan through Furniture Village that I have had for two years. I have today received a letter from CapQuest saying we need to pay the outstanding balance within 7 days etc. When I apoke to HFC they informed me that they had sent 3 letters to an old address, where we have not lived for over 2 years, I am 99.99% sure I changed the address when we moved as our phone number changed and they keep calling on that. When I checked at the bank they payments had indeed not gone out due to the bank cancelling the Direct Debit. My question is who is to blame for all of this? If i remember correctly HFC would have to have had our new address so that they could continue taking the payments? I spoke to capQuest and told them that they aing getting a penny, I also spoke to "customer service" at HFC who said to speak to CapQuest. I called a HFC branch, they took the two payments owing, reset the Direct Debit, and updated my details, howeve, this seems a little too easy, surely CapQuest have been "sold" the debt so I should be paying them?

Not sure - HFC may have passed the debt to CapQuest to pursue on their behalf.
I would write to HFC requesting an update of the status of the account and what the repatyment detaisl are. Also request a statement of account so you can see if any charges have been added. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
