Connaught Collections

Hi Everyone,

Just looking for a helping hand for a family member (honest)

Family member has received various calls Connaught from a debt to Barclaycard some years ago. After advice from this site we sent a request for the credit agreement. This has arrived today and has taken two months to get here from the first request!!

The photocopy they sent is one of the application form dated 23rd April 2002.

Family member insists there has been no contact for quite a few years.

Is it possible that this is statuate barred? and have they been late in supplying the photocopy?

Any comments would be great

If there has been no acknowledgement of the debt by way of payment or written acknowledgement for a period of six years (five in Scotland) the debt is indeed statute barred.

    There's a factsheet here

If the agreement is enforceable, they will need the courts approval to enforce it as they're way out the allocated timescale.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
