one way home removal

heya all, im moving from newcastle to manchester, ive not got enough stuff to warrant renting a van, but ive got to much to fill a car and i dont drive, im looking for a one way home removal that can pick up at my old place and deliver at my new place the same day, this will hopefully save me money renting an uneeded van and having to return it.
anyone recomend a good company that can do this?

Try local "One Man and His Van types of companies they will do it for a reasonable amount

You don't need to stick to the smaller 'man with van' options. Try the larger removal firms and state on the telephone when getting quotes that its a part removal... they'll ask you how much so make sure you have a list of exact furniture items and how many boxes. For numbers try yellow pages/yell.com.

The firms are more likely to be insured properly should any of your items get damaged in transit.

From experience, it's cheaper to use a firm that are based near the place you are moving from... not the place you are moving to.

Might be worth asking around for 'return loads'
