A Wedding in 30 Days is it really possible ?

Just wondered what everyones thoughts are on organising a wedding that would take place towards end of March. The venue is stunning, and they would organise most of the stuff flowers, registrar, food, masters of the ceremony etc etc. so I would have to arrange
Wedding Dress, accessories, my flowers, invitations and photographer, honeymoon, band if I want one, let everyone know.
Is it possible to get a Wedding dress off the shelf, I would prob be about a size 18, I love the idea of Landy Bridal but this would be out of the question if I go for this date.
Also do you think people would be put off by a mid week weddding, Mon, Wed or Thurs.
My friend is a flourist and would probably help me quite a bit as she is not working at the moment.
AM I MAD, probably.

Cheers

no your not mad,
you can organise a wedding in 30 days.
there are alot of shops that you will be able to get your dress from, bhs, debenhams also check out your local bridal shops as they may have ex display dresses available.
more couples are choosing mon-fri weddings as it works out cheaper as alot of suppliers will give a discount as they are less busy.
my advice would be to get the invites out asap, as 30 days in not much notice if you have to book time off work
i hope this helps

The shops have started their bridal sales again, I noticed when I was in town today (Brum) because the big trade fair takes place at the beginning of March so they want to clear their decks. You may even be able to get a sample. Look in other places like Debenhams, BHS, Laura Ashley etc. Accessories you can pick up on Ebay, freecycle and places like Accessorize.
Send your invitations out now
If you want a band, then you need to look now as they do get booked up so dont be surprised if you can't get one.
Go to bridal fairs, as you may just find a photographer who offers a discount - depending on where you are, I do know a reasonably priced one who is based in Birmingham but he will travel to Coventry and Wolverhampton so let me know and I will PM his details.
Flowers - get something that is in season to cut down on expensive imports.
Don't forget your rings. Honeymoon - depends on your budget and where you want to go. Jersey, Guernsey (seems a long way but still part of UK), Dorset, France, Holland - are good places for a honeymoon that are not too far away.
Congratulations and hope you have a fab time - need any assistance then I am sure that a few of planners who visit this site will be able to offer advice etc.0 -
I was looking on here for ideas and found your thread, I may be in the same boat, as we thought up our wedding on Tuesday and are now booked into the church on Friday 6th March. I'm going to watch your thread as I'm a bit stuck on catering ideas.
Best of luck

Thank you so much everyone for your encouragement, I have made a provisional booking for end of March it would be the Forrest of Dean Gloucestershire, so if anyone has recommendations for the following in that area
Solo Singer for Civil Ceremony
Band for evening although OH loves his music so will be fussy (OLD ROCKER)
Barn Dance another possibility for evening but on the slim chance, as I say he is a ROCKER LOL. Venue does provide Disco so could have combination.
Photographer
Horse and Carriage possibly
Hairdresser/Makeup artist that is local
Any hints on good places to get invitations QUICK SHARP
This is actually quite exciting, but what if it snows rains all day LOL.
For the honeymoon I will probably look for possible Carribean or Africa need to check climate etc. but defo something exotic.
Sorry about this but this really is exiting, do you think people in Ireland and UK will mind if it is on a Wednesday.
sorry for the ramble and rant, I'll also have to ring my Manager to see if I can get the time off work LOL.
thanks again

A weekday wedding is cheaper than a weekend wedding, and Ireland isnt too far away so they can either drive across or fly.
As for invitations - you can buy them off the peg so to speak in places like WH Smith that way you won't have to wait for printers to print them.
I will look at the other things you have mentioned and get back to you.

There is a carriage company in Coleford in the Forest of Dean called Rushmere Farm Carriages https://www.horsedrawn-carriage.co.uk
More to come when I have located them.0 -
Have you booked your registrar for the time you want yet?
The reason I ask is that I know of a few people who have arranged the reception and everything else and then found out that they forgot to check that a registrar was available for the time they want and everything has to be adjusted.
only a thought...0 -
I have decided not to go for the wedding at end of March, mainly because it was going to be a Wednesday and with people travelling from London we felt that they would start leaving early so they could get back to work on the Thursday, so we are going to hold on and get a Friday instead.
Horice thanks for the wonderful advice, it will not go to waist as I am thing of end of April instead as possibility.
Thanks again everyone
